Leicester Tigers Inclusion Programmes 2021-22
HITZ – Leicester Tigers
Starting in September 2021 from the heart of the Leicester Tigers Stadium, Hitz Leicester offers 16-19 year olds not in education, employment or training, the opportunity to take the next steps to support their progression and develop social and employability skills. Please note 19+ places are available on an individual basis.
HITZ provides learners the platform to gain accredited Maths and English qualifications and a BTEC Sport and Active Leisure Level 1 qualification, based in our Tiger’s Education Centre and supported by the SCL. The programme has sport and physical activity at the heart of the programme, and aims to increase resilience, self-confidence and aspiration for young people to progress on to further education, training or employment.
Our Hitz Leicester course if predominantly a full year study programme but we will be offering additional places at the turn of the year, for short course options.
SMB-HITZ – Jump into Employment
Brand new this year, we are also very excited to launch the new SMB HITZ programme, centred around increasing the employability of young people not in education, training or employment. Based at the impressive Stephenson’s College (Coalville), leaners will gain accredited Maths and English qualifications and a BTEC Work Skills Level 2 Certificate, alongside blocks of work experience placements, sport and physical activity and bespoke personal development sessions. This course will be centred around life in work and employability, embedded in the culture and values of the Leicester Tigers Foundation.
SMB-HITZ Jump into Employment is aimed at leaners 16-19 years, however places for 19+ leaners will be considered on an individual basis. There will be two cohorts across the year, running from September 2021 to February 2022 and February 2022 to June 2022.
