Day Care Manager

Santosh Community Centre CIC (Community Interest Company) is a small not for profit organisation that delivers quality, affordable, adaptable and accessible day care services predominantly to the South Asian Community in Leicester and its surroundings.

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm (flexibility required)

Pay: starting salary £20k, can pay more depending on experience

Purpose: Responsible for running, maintaining and developing a fully supportive and non-discriminatory adult day care centre for service users predominantly from a South Asian background, ensuring the service users are the focus of all activities.

SUMMARY OF ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
● Understand and implement the aims and objectives of Santosh Community Centre
● Assist the Director to review current provisions and strategy, and develop new services and/or expand and improve existing services
● Represent the Centre in tandem with the Director in negotiations with suppliers, government departments, external organisations and other key contacts to secure competitive rates and contracts
● With the Director, develop and maintain quality management systems throughout the Centre
● Provide regular internal reports and analysis on Centre service
● Assist the Director in the development and implementation of all necessary policies, protocols and procedures in line with the legislative and regulatory requirements for the Centre, and ensure that all staff work within such policies, protocols and procedures
● Monitor the efficacy of such policies and procedures to ensure the organisation complies with statutory regulations
● Co-ordinate and manage robust staff rotas, workloads and provisions (including transport, carers, cleaning etc.) to ensure optimal service without compromise
● Create, maintain and utilise effective administrative systems in liaison with the Director
● Positively manage care staff and resources of the Centre to achieve the best possible service delivery
● Maintain the performance appraisal system including regular reviews and target setting for staff. Identify and provide training for all staff to support individual learning
● Provide advice and guidance to the Director and the Board of Directors on industry developments, changes and recommendations
● Attend all required meetings (internal and external) as Day Care Manager, taking the lead as and when required by the Director
● Carry out comprehensive assessments of service users’ needs and utilise an effective monitoring system. Escalate to Director when interventions are required or staff have concerns
● Maintain effective and professional communication with service users, relatives, carers and other members of the general public or collaborative organisations
● Liaise with other agencies involved with the service user’s care as appropriate

CORE SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
● 3+ years’ experience as a day care manager or in a care environment
● Intermediate level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, Outlook) and Google Drive
● Touch-typing desirable
● Experienced leader with proven success
● Team player but works on own initiative
