Warehouse Operative Apprentice

Please note that this an apprenticeship scheme offered in partnership with a local College. Successful candidates will need to successfully pass the key skills assessments and complete an apprenticeship with a specified College. This is done on-site during working hours.

Typical shift is Mon-Friday: 30- 37hours per week
Salary: Apprentice starting at £4.15/hour to be reviewed after 3 months
This is a practical position in our warehouse on a permanent basis with the opportunity to progress. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy and display a high level of customer service. We are a small and close-knit business and growth and expansion mean we are now looking for someone to assist and be part of our journey of growth.
We are looking for somebody to grow with the business with the idea of progressing to our future warehouse supervisor/manager. We are a new online business specialising in print production on to various clothing products.
Responsibilities will include:
•Pick customer orders from computer generated pick lists
•Goods in - checking items supplied match the paperwork
•Packing and labelling of finished goods
•Putting away pallets of goods
•General housekeeping duties including keeping the warehouse tidy
•Assisting in basic print production

Job Duties:
•Load and unload delivery vans in a safe and efficient manner
•Keep production lines supplied with materials as needed
•Rotate floor stock
•General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned
•Perform general warehouse duties in order to maintain a smooth operation
•Use common warehouse management software
•Receive/process shipments
•Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any faults or wear and tear

Essential to the role:
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines displaying high work standards
•Excellent team working skills
•Flexibility
Please note that this is a physically demanding job - you’ll be on the move all day, moving and lifting stock to ensure targets and deadlines are met, so we’re looking for people with bags of energy who are up for the challenge!
