Want to start now?

You can get ready for a job, course or apprenticeship by enrolling on a study programme. Study programmes enable you to work in small groups and gain experience and a vocational qualification such as childcare, catering or consruction. You'll gain confidence, learn new skills and improve your maths and English.

There are many different programmes available and if you're not currently studying or working you can start at any time of the year.

See what courses are available on the UCAS Progress website.

If you are not ready to do an apprenticeship or Foundation Learning there may be other opportunities available. For more information call us on 0116 454 1770 or drop-in to the Connexions Centre.

Not happy on your course?

If you're enrolled on a course and it doesn't feel right don't panic. Some people will settle into a new college or new course. They will have met the staff and started to make some new friends. But, if you are not one of them and are having doubts don't leave it too late.

  • Speak to your tutor first - you should make them aware of any concerns and they may be able to help.
  • Speak to the student support service at your school or college.
