SHARP volunteering opportunities

SHARP (Shelter Housing Aid and Research Project) was established in 1974 by the Leicester Shelter Group.

They are the only independent Housing Aid Centre that covers all of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Over 40 years, they have provided much-needed advice, help and support for thousands of people who have been homeless or facing serious housing problems in the City of Leicester and the counties.

As a volunteer you will benefit by gaining new skills, work experience, and increasing your confidence and self-esteem.

Volunteering role

We are offering a 6 week volunteer work placement training program.

You will be helping to assist with the smooth and efficient running of Shelter Housing Aid and Research Project (SHARP), mainly through Administrative and Casework assistance. This will include covering reception and administrative duties as necessary. Working alongside caseworkers helping them to deliver cases. Creating and updating client files on our database and helping to research and update database information.

Times: Minimum requirement of 2 days a week, Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday. Hours of 10am-2pm.

Criteria: 18yrs +, We will always give priority to long term unemployed 3yrs +.
