Build a career in construction
Course 1 - CSCS +
4 days’ commitment; course times are Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 3pm.
Upon completion of the course you will be linked with an employer to undertake a work trial, which will often lead to full time employment.
Training includes CSCS Touch Screen test to gain a CSCS Green Card, as well as:
• Asbestos Awareness
• Abrasive Wheels
• Manual Handling
• COSHH
• PPE
• Handheld Power Tools
• CAT & Genny (Hazards)
• Working at Heights

Course 2 - Highways Maintenance
This is a ten day course, covering:
• Segregating the area for highways work in the workplace K5039622
• Laying flexible pavements in the workplace Y5039440
• Excavating holes & trenches -manual digging in the workplace Y5039650
• Laying modular pavement in the workplace J5039627
• Reinstating excavation & highway surfaces in the workplace H5039442
Plus
• Forward Tipping Dumper licence
• Roller Licence

Course 3 – Estimators
Working on a construction project is not just a physical job, so from November 2023 a new 2 day course will be launched and fully funded to give practical experience of completing construction estimations. Delegates attending would be expected to complete practical estimates found on construction sites,
• Working in Construction make it count
• Working in construction is about firm foundations .
• Building a house is more than just laying a brick!
• Operating plant is more than holding a certification!
• Ground working is more than just digging a hole!
• Painting is more than a paint brush!
Improve your confidence to work with numbers and estimations in a construction environment. Employers need these skills more than ever. This is a practical in a construction compound and PPE will be provided if needed. Transport Can be arranged from central pick up points.
