About Nacro
Nacro is a national social justice charity with more than 50 years’ experience of changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime. We house, we educate, we support, we advise, and we speak out for and with disadvantaged young people and adults. We are passionate about changing lives. We never give up.
Employer Advice Service
Nacro’s Employer Advice Service (EAS) seeks to promote best practice among employers, training providers and other organisations by giving them the confidence to assess and manage risk in relation to criminal record matters and allegations. We support them so that they can make informed decisions when considering applicants, existing staff, volunteers or apprentices who have criminal records.
We provide expert advice and specifically tailored training to practitioners working with people with criminal records (including probation officers, youth offending officers and employment support advisers). We also provide safe and fair recruitment training and consultancy services to employers, training providers and other organisations, helping them to strike a balance between safeguarding and enabling ex-offenders to have equal access to education, training and employment opportunities. The Employer Advice Service confidential helpline can be contacted 9am-5pm Mon-Fri on 0845 600 3194 or via email: employeradvice@nacro.org.uk
