Job Overview
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Part One):
Supporting the Registered Manager with all of the below:
• Staff management; training; recruitment, co-ordination, supervision, team meetings, spot checks and supervision reviews in Quality Control Assessments. As well as day-to-day service provision; producing detailed work schedules for the Care Workers and providing both written and verbal instructions/guidance to them as well as feedback to management
• To report to the Registered Manager any financial issues that have an impact on the overall budget
• Maintain strong professional standards, providing a professional and efficient manner at all times; on the telephone, face to face or in written communication
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Part Two):
Supporting the Registered Manager with all of the below:
• To visit Service Users and to make reviews of the written Care Plans, risk assessments, examine the written records of medication administration, finance and daily log notes kept by staff
• To produce reports and maintain accurate records
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Part Three):
• To be conversant with the Care Standards Act 2008 for Domiciliary Care Regulations (National Minimum Standards) and legislation governing the service and other regulations concerning the provision of both domiciliary care and residential care services.
• To be familiar with and to implement the following policies: Quality Assurance, Confidentiality, Health and Safety, Quality Monitoring
• To monitor and meet company targets, contractual requirements of the commissioners and the NMS
• Work with the Registered Manager to carry out risk assessments under the Health and Safety requirements, reporting any concerns immediately
Skills and Qualifications required
Essential
• Must be able to participate in the ‘out of hours’ call rota
• Experience in care provision at a level that reflects the responsibilities of the post applied for
• Understanding of legislation concerned with care provision
• People management skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Good presentation skills
• Computer literate
• Administrative experience
Desirable
• Full driving licence
• NVQ Level 2
• Experience as a supervisor or senior care worker or other role within a care providing organisation.
Competencies:
• Sound understanding of good care principles
• Management skills
• Ability to deal with change or emergencies and cope under pressure
• Ability to display empathy and understanding
