Marketing & Communications Manager
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Marketing & Communications Manager oversees all marketing and communications
activities for Art Reach, with a particular focus on press, media relations and print
production, ensuring audience engagement across all festivals and programmes. This role
manages marketing campaigns, audience development initiatives, and oversees the work
of the Communications & Content Coordinator (freelance) during festival delivery.
Main Duties
Marketing & Audience Development
• Develop and deliver individual marcomms strategies for each festival and
programme to achieve audience targets.
• Plan and manage marketing campaigns that drive engagement and expand
audiences.
• Oversee print production and distribution, including brochures, posters, and other
physical marketing assets.
• Where appropriate design in-house marketing assets, including social media
graphics, posters, and flyers.
• Support the production of physical marketing materials, such as event signage.
• Ensure all marketing assets are aligned with Art Reach’s brand guidelines.
• Ensure marketing aligns with audience growth objectives and strategic
partnerships.
• Actively cover events in real time, providing live social media updates and
audience engagement content.
• Develop interactive digital campaigns that encourage audience participation.
Press & Media Relations
• Develop and maintain relationships with press and media contacts to secure
coverage for Art Reach events.
• Write and distribute press releases and manage media inquiries.
• Organise and oversee PR campaigns to enhance the visibility of Art Reach’s
festivals and activities.
• Work with partners and stakeholders to maximise press opportunities.
Communications & Content Oversight
• Supervise the Communications & Content Coordinator during festival delivery,
ensuring effective delivery of digital marketing and content creation.

• Oversee website content updates, liaising with designers or developers for
significant changes.
• Maintain brand consistency across all digital and print marketing materials.
• Manage and execute all social media activity across social media platforms.
• Develop and schedule regular posts, stories, and short-form content to drive
engagement.
• Design and produce graphics, photography, and video content for digital use.
• Ensure social media and website updates align with festival and programme
marcomms strategies.
• Write and proof newsletters, blogs, and public-facing announcements.
Partnerships & Outreach
• Work with external agencies and partners to support cross-promotion and
sponsorship collaborations.
• Coordinate marketing efforts with festival teams and programme leads to
maximise audience engagement.
Management & Budgeting
• Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective campaigns.
• Monitor marketing performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Provide marketing guidance and support to the Communications & Content
Coordinator during festival delivery.
Accessibility in Communications
• Ensure all marketing materials (digital and print) follow best practices in
accessibility.
• Support the Communications & Content Coordinator in ensuring that social media
and website content are accessible to all audiences.

Skills and Qualifications required
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
• Demonstrable experience in marketing, communications, audience development,
and PR.
• Strong knowledge of website and social media management.
• Strong knowledge of press and media relations, with a track record of securing
coverage.
• Understanding of developing and delivering marketing and communication
strategies for events and festivals.
• Experience in print production processes and working with external
designers/agencies.
• Experience of writing and designing newsletters and project marketing materials
such as posters / flyers etc.
• Experience in managing freelance contractors and external marketing services
• Familiarity with partnership marketing and working with stakeholders.
• Understanding of accessibility considerations in marketing and communications.
Skills & Abilities
• Excellent copywriting and editorial skills.
• Excellent press liaison and PR abilities.
• High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Commitment to effective team working and a flexible approach to working
practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
