Leicester Shopmobility is based at 41 Freeschool Lane, Leicester, Leicester, LE1 4FY and is a scheme that offers anyone with a mobility problem through illness, injury or age the free loan of a scooter, powerchair, power assisted wheelchair and manual wheelchair.

Customer Service & Administrative Support
Enthusiastic and reliable volunteers required to help maintain an already excellent customer service. Applicants should be both trustworthy and reliable and be able to work on their own initiative or as part of an already friendly team. Duties will include –
- Answering the telephone (a good standard of spoken English is required)
- Dealing with equipment bookings and answering enquires.
- Issuing of mobility equipment to already existing members of the scheme or visitors.
- Checking and maintaining accurate records manually and on the computer.
A knowledge of Health and Safety would be an advantage – but not essential as full in house training will be provided. Part time positions are available, working hours are Monday to Saturday 9:00 am to 4.00 pm.
In return volunteers will receive £8 a day lunch allowance and reimbursement of bus travel expenses.
Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer
Tasks include general service maintenance of the mobility fleet, repairs to equipment, tyre/ tube punctures/ pressure checks, battery renewals etc.
We are therefore looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to service equipment and carry out general maintenance repairs. Electronics knowledge would be an advantage. A fully equipped repair workshop is provided.
